Kellee Weinhold is a former newspaper and magazine editor, publisher and journalism professor.
Although she realizes most people can't relate, Weinhold not only loves writing but looks forward to working through the details in search of that perfect word, phrase and image.
She is the creator and designer of The Tongue Untied, an extensive grammar Web site consistently recognized as one of the premier education sites on the Web.
"I love the power of the language, and part of utilizing the power of language is engaging with its basic components," she says.
As a professor, Weinhold taught some of the most rigorous classes offered by the School of Journalism at the University of Oregon and was recognized with the Jonathan Marshall Award for Innovative Teaching in Journalism and Communication.
"I understand that each writer has different goals and responds to different approaches. I am always adjusting techniques and exercises to help each writer I work with to reach their goals.
Weinhold is also an active writer. In March 2008, her personal essay "My Morel Dilemma" was a finalist in the Oregon Quarterly 2008 Northwest Perspective Essay Contest. Currently, she is working on a series of essays that examine the effect of murder on families of victims. Read her recent narrative nonfiction at Etude
