One Day: Cut the Fat: Revision as Opportunity

To truly revise is to do much more than editing and tinkering: Revision offers us a new chance. Revision allows us to see our work anew, moving our stories toward their strengths.

Using critiques of participants' work in progress, participants will examine significant elements of craft such as narrative, scene, voice and theme.

Real time critique will not only provide opportunities for short lessons, addressing issues of craft raised by each particular story, but also concrete tools to improve existing work.

The intent of this workshop is for each participant (regardless of genre) to leave with an outpouring of newly improved material, and some new—or newly honed—tools for revision.
